HALF MARATHON SUCCESS FOR THE FUND

 

Vickie Brandom, Charlotte's sister in law, ran her first half marathon - Derby Ramathon 2016, against the odds to raise over £250 for the fund.

 

Just three week's before her first half marathon attempt, she cracked her ribs, meaning that training had to stop.  

 

But against the odds, Vickie completed the 13 mile course on a red hot day in 2hrs 28mins.

COFFEE MORNING AT PARENTS HOUSE RAISES MONEY FOR FUND

 

Rachel and Kevin hosted a coffee morning at their house on 12th April 2014, joined by friends, family, and passers by.  

 

A whopping £205.27 was raised.

CHRISTMAS CARD SALES BOOSTS FUND

 

Thank you to everyone who purchased the Christmas Cards designed by children at Bennerley Fields Special Needs School.  

21 MILE TREK

 

Tara Stevens, friend of Charlotte's put herself forward for the most physical demanding challenge she has ever done - a 21 mile walk.

GRADUATES TAKE ON SNOWDON

 

A massive well done to Stacey Cutler, Lindy Gray, Nicola Jacks and Rebecca Hissitt for climbing Snowdon on May 5, in memory of Charlotte raising money for the fund on the way. 

 

Charlottes friends from university got together to complete the challenge.

 

Absolutely fantastic girls, and thank you to all who sponsored them.

OVER £300 RAISED AT 10K RUN

 

Vickie Butler, sister of Charlotte's boyfriend Matt, together with friends Louise Walters and Phil Morley, took part in the Derby 10k on Sunday 28th April in Charlotte's memory, raising over £300.

 

This was the first race Vickie had ever taken part in, and all three finished in 56 minutes.  

 

A massive thank you to everyone who sponsored and to all those family and friends who came along and supported the runners on the day.

BIRTHDAY MEMORIAL GIG RAISES £1200

To celebrate Charlotte's 23rd birthday, a host of local bands took part in a memorial gig on Saturday 2 February, including performances from Stride, Shadowboards, Leonora Lauren, Ritchie Blount, The Longmen and NG26.  Over £1200 was raised on the night, with over 200 people attending.

FIBRETECH REVEAL CHEEKY DESK CALENDAR FOR 2013

 

Local foundry workers at Fibretech in Pinxton, including Charlotte's partner, Matt Carnell, stripped off in a bid to raise money for the Charlotte Blackman Memorial Fund.

LOSE 2ST BY CHRISTMAS 2012

 

Lesley Spiers (friend of Charlotte), pledged to lose 2st by Christmas in a bid to shape up and raise money for the Charlotte Blackman Memorial Fund.

COFFEE AFTERNOON, THORPE ACRE

A massive thank you to Rosie Woolley for organising the coffee afternoon and raising a fantastic £540 for the fund.  It was a really enjoyable afternoon, with a wide variety of stalls, lovely food and cakes.  

 

Rosie was presented with flowers from members of Charlotte's family.  She said "The feeling of making something good happen is fab!"

FAMILY FUN DAY

On Sunday 4th November, the Family Fun Day took place to help raise money for the Charlotte Blackman Memorial Fund

SCHOOL CAKE SALE

Thursday 4th October saw Megan Bostock and friends hold a cake sale at her school with the money raised going towards the Charlotte Blackman Memorial Fund.

 

Students and Teachers dug deep and help raise £74.50 for the Fund.

 

Megan said:

 

"I'm very very proud to say that the bake sale today went really well!  Thank you to everyone who donated to the fund"

 

A spokesperson for the Memorial Fund added:

 

"We would like to thank Megan and the school for helping organise this event, and thank everyone that brought a cake who help raise such a amazing amount for the fund!"

ROBIN HOOD MARATHON

Phil Morley completed his run in the Robin Hood Half Marathon in 1 hour 46mins, being cheered on by friends and family of Charlotte, and raising over £600 for the fund.

FORMER SCHOOL RAISE OVER £600

Charlotte's former Secondary School, Aldercar Community Language College held a pink and purple themed non school uniform day recently, with all money going towards the Memorial Fund.

 

A fantastic response from the pupils helped raise over £600 for the fund.  All children were invited to wear something pink or purple for the day.

 

A spokesperson for the fund said "The school had such a great response from both pupils and staff, a huge thank you goes to all who took part and help raise the money, especially the organisers for arranging everything.  We are grateful for any donations, big or small, our aim is to raise awareness and help those in the local area."
